The E.C.C.O. Committee met again this weekend 14th – 15th October in Bern, kindly hosted by Bern University of the Arts (BFH) to concide with the IIC 4th 2017 Student & Emerging Conservators Conference. Some of the committee members had also been invited to take an active part. The Agenda has incorporated different aspects related to the E.C.C.O. Strategic Plan, mostly concerning advocacy of the Conservation-Restoration profession, through the participation in the Structured Dialogues: ”Voices of Culture EYCH2018” and “Voices of Culture Skills, Training and Knowledge transfer” organised by the European Commission. The different Working Groups related to these issues presented their results achieved over the last months. The Committee has also adressed the diferent MoUs we have undertaken with other bodies. The main goal of the communication and collaboration of these understandings is to enhance the flow of information between E.C.C.O. and these organisations at European and international levels. We have had the opportunity to meet the ENCoRE Board, where we adressed issues on Education and the professional Mobility of Conservaotor-Restorers in Europe. We have shared the first draft of the proposed European Conservation Portfolio which was the result of a Working Group meeting in Rome in July 2017. In this way, E.C.C.O. offers a tool of guidance for a high level of professional education and continuing professional development (CPD). Following the Agenda, other aspects relating to administration, management and events have been adressed during these two days.
